Chase Ultimate Rewards points were a large component of how we paid for the flights and the hotels during our honeymoon. After earning the points from sign up bonuses or spending, we transferred them to United Airlines to book flights and Hyatt Hotels to book hotel rooms. Below we’ll walk you through how to transfer Chase UR points to United.
To start, you need to at least have one of three cards to transfer Chase UR points to travel partners.
Step 1 – Login to Chase Ultimate Rewards
Visit the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal to login. You will also need a membership number for United MileagePlus. If you have one of these cards and the membership number then you are ready to go.
Your login information will be the same login information you use to view your credit cards transactions/statements online.
If you have multiple cards that earn rewards, select the one you would like to use. Once you’re in, you can transfer points among the cards from any of the accounts, so just click on one.
Step 2 – Choose a Transfer Partner
Hover your mouse over the “Use Points” menu, and select the “Transfer to Travel Partners” option.
Step 3 – Select a Transfer Partner
Let’s transfer Chase UR points to United! Scroll down and find United Airlines.
Click on the “Transfer Points” button.
Step 4 – Connect your Accounts
Once you select United, you will be prompted to connect your accounts by providing and confirming your MileagePlus account number. Note that you can transfer points to yourself or to a member of your household.
Step 5 – Transfer Points to United
From there, you can transfer points to your MileagePlus account on a 1:1 basis, in increments of 1,000 points.
Click Continue. You will then have a chance to review and confirm you transfer.
Congratulations! You’ve just transferred points to United. United says that the points transfer is instantaneous, but from experience it takes anywhere from five to fifteen minutes.
The process for transferring to World of Hyatt or any other travel partner is identical.
For our upcoming trip to Thailand, we transferred Chase UR to United in order to book flights on Asiana Airlines. Where are you planning to go next?
